Bio
Jindřich Kalíšek is an attorney-at-law specializing in information and new technologies law, especially information and personal data protection, reputation and privacy in the Internet environment, cyber security, software development and protection, provision of online and cloud services, and e-commerce. He also acts as a registered mediator specializing in disputes arising from intellectual property law.
He is primarily engaged in providing legal advice in the fields of data processing and protection of personal data and cyber security to commercial companies and non-profit organizations operating in the Czech Republic, EU countries, and the USA. He has provided his services to major domestic and international organizations operating in the fields of energy trading, IT services and software development, gaming and entertainment, logistics, venture capital funds, and investors.
He provides legal services in the Czech and English languages.
At the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague, he teaches a course on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. For the Czech Bar Association, he conducts seminars on personal data protection and information for law clerks. He holds several internationally recognized certifications in the area of personal data protection (IAPP CIPP/E and CIPM) and has completed advanced professional training programs in the area of cyber security (ISC2 CISSP and CGRC).
He was named the Privacy Fiduciary of the Year by the Privacy Society in 2019.

In his previous practice he cooperated with leading Czech and international law firms, among others he headed the IP, TMT and data protection section. For five years he was a member of the compliance team of an international investment group, with responsibility for companies trading in energy and operating energy infrastructure. In the last seven years, he has been the substantive guarantor of more than 35 GDPR compliance implementation projects, including:
− GDPR compliance implementation project at an energy group (electricity and gas trader and distribution company) and then several years as DPO.
− Review of GDPR implementation at a telemarketing service provider followed by several years in the role of DPO (500+ data subject requests per year).
− Acting as DPO for a licensed operator of gambling, lottery and online gaming services (hundreds of data subject requests per year), including co-creation and interim management of an international compliance program in this area.
− Comprehensive GDPR implementation project (review and adaptation of processes, information systems and records, preparation of new documentation) for a major Czech insurance company.
− Comprehensive GDPR implementation project for a media house operating in the CEE region.
− Representing clients in control proceedings before the Office for Personal Data Protection (2 times).
− Preparation of personal data protection methodology and standards for the Czech Bar Association.
