Bio

Petra Věžníková is an attorney-at-law focusing on digital technology and related legal issues including regulatory, compliance, data protection, and cybersecurity.

Petra has been involved professionally and managerially in several projects implementing or reviewing compliance of corporate processes with GDPR and cybersecurity regulations for global and Czech clients across industries. In her previous practice at an international law firm and subsequently, at a global consultancy, she combined her expertise in electronic communications regulation with her long-standing interest in EU competition law to advise clients on a range of competition law aspects, particularly in technology-driven and digital economy sectors.

In addition to her law degree at Charles University, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on economic aspects of law.

He provides legal services in the Czech and English languages.

At the University of Economics, she lectured in the Computer and Information Law course. At the time of the upcoming GDPR’s effectiveness, she participated in the preparation of training and e-learning materials within the GDPR Academy project organized by SPČR under the auspices of the Office of the Office of the Public Prosecutor. She has presented several digital rights topics in seminars for clients and the wider public. She regularly publishes articles on these issues and contributes to the LexisNexis European Competition Laws publication with a comprehensive overview of the development of competition law in the Czech Republic.

She is ranked among the recommended lawyers for TMT law in The Legal 500 (Legalease) for EMEA.

 Supporting a satellite operator in obtaining and defending regulatory approvals necessary for the launch of the first ever European Aeronautical Network (EAN) satellite transmission, negotiating fee reductions with the regulator.
